Beechworth is located approximately 36kms from central Wangaratta and is widely regarded as Victoria’s best preserved gold rush town. The 25 minute drive from Wangaratta takes you along the Great Alpine Road, through Tarrawingee and then up the gently rising hills past a number of excellent wineries and into the township of Beechworth.
Beechworth is home to a wonderfully diverse mix of boutique retail stores, restaurants, cafes and historic attractions. There is the relaxing Lake Sambell, Chinese Cultural Gardens, Historic Precinct, Gorge Drive, Woolshed Falls and many impressive buildings dating back to the mid 1800’s.
Beechworth is also well known for its many annual festivals including the Golden Horseshoes Easter Festival, Drive Back in Time Weekend, Celtic Festival and Harvest Celebration.
